This edit will look at the big picture elements of your manuscript. It will focus on the structure of the manuscript and provide feedback on elements of plot, premise, characters, pacing, narrative, POV, and dialogue. Also it’ll provide feedback on world-building and conflict resolution and story arc accuracy. Revising, reordering, cutting, or expanding material may be done during this edit when necessary.

This type of edit is ideal for self-publishing authors who have done heavy self edits on a completed manuscript. feedback will be given via marginal comments throughout the manuscript. Feedback will be focused on pacing, characters, plot, and dialogue.

Editorial Letter

10-20 pages of in-depth explanations of frequent errors and major revisions and areas for improvement.

Open Communication

You will have 30 days after all materials have been returned to ask me questions about your manuscript or to clarify things.

Line-by-line feedback focused on repetition, consistency, and phrasing. Adjusting the length and structure of sentences and paragraphs. Maintaining the language level, tone, mood, style, and authorial voice.

Copy Editing

Grammar-focused edit that checks spelling, punctuation, and usage following The Chicago Manual of Style (or other agreed upon manual). This edit also checks for consistency of facts, characters, and relationships.

•Developing a style sheet

•Comments & queries throughout manuscript
•Canadianizing or other localizing

Proofreading

This edit is performed on a previously edited manuscript prior to publication. Proofreading is meant to catch minor mechanical errors (such as spelling mistakes or deviations from style sheet), problems with formatting, ensuring no errors remain after revisions are done by the author or editor(s).

•On screen mark up with standard proofreader’s marks or via Tracked Changes
